Look At These Utterly Delightful & Perfectly Weird Fairmount Park Birdhouses

Powered by a grant from ArtPlace America, Meadow Mansions: Designing Homes for Fairmount Park’s Winged Residents” is an utterly delightful new program from the Fairmount Park Conservancy. For the next two weeks, as part of Design Philadelphia, a set of hand-designed birdhouses (as seen above) will be exhibited inside the historic Mount Pleasant mansion in the park, accompanied by projections and a bird-friendly soundscape. Thereafter, the houses will be “installed in Philadelphia parkland to entice nesting species and serve as signposts reminding park visitors that meadows are diverse ecosystems right in the city’s midst.”
