Say Hi To Nightletter, Philly's New Avant-Garde Film Series

Say Hi To Nightletter, Philly's New Avant-Garde Film Series

Nightletter is a brand new film screening series — so new, it started this week — that is clearly set up to serve lovers of avant-garde cinema, and you can see right away the value they could be bringing to the Philly film scene. Focusing on shorter works that intersect with video art and performance as well as narrative, these guys could well be the punk house show to Lightbox and Philadelphia Film Society’s larger venues. Nightletter will be calling the Window Room on Grays Ave. (near Bartram’s Garden) room home, and thus far, the schedule includes the following screenings:

Wednesday, July 24 — Yvonne Rainer's Lives of Performers, introduced by Terry Fox

Friday, August 2 — Chantal Akerman's News From Home, introduced by Corina Copp

Wednesday, August 14 — Ken Jacobs' The Sky Socialist
