Dining Out For Life Turns 30 Today & Made Quite Possibly The Only Spreadsheet You Could Ever Love

Dining Out For Life Turns 30 Today & Made Quite Possibly The Only Spreadsheet You Could Ever Love

Dining Out For Life turns 30 today, and as you will no doubt surmise, this year, the fundraiser — which benefits HIV service organizations — will proceed quite differently from any other of those 29 years. Forged in the crucible of another pandemic here in Philadelphia, DOFL has a special resonance today, and that it’s still very much on isn’t just a testament to their own commitment — it’s also an especially brave and generous act on the part of the restaurants who are still participating, even as many are fighting for their own lives. The event today will focus on take-out only meals, and to that end, they’ve fashioned this Google spreadsheet that lists not just all of the participating restaurants, but also how you can support that restaurant and their workers during this time. (It might be a good idea to hold onto this link for general use right now, come to think of it: What would you rather consult, GrubHub or a list of people who’ve proven themselves to be decent and good while the world fell apart?) Think of it as the club sandwich of fundraisers: Yes, it may be a lot for you to take on, but oh, how good it will be.
