WATCH: The New Animal Planet Series About Penn Vet Hospital

Follow six Penn Vet students as they complete their fourth year of vet school at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine.

If you've ever had the misfortune to need emergency care for your pet in Philly, you know that Penn Vet is basically the Cadillac of local animal hospitals — what CHOP is for kids, Penn Vet is for dogs and cats. This has become local wisdom over the years (as has the fact that you may need a second mortgage to keep your dog alive), but soon, Penn Vet’s excellent levels of care will be part of the national knowledge set, such as it is. Debuting on Animal Planet on October 1, Life At Vet U “follows six Penn Vet students during their final year of veterinary school, as they treat animals of all sizes and learn from pioneers of veterinary medicine.” Cast bios are here, and yes, this show will probably, at some point, make you cry.
