Philadelphia has long been rich in musical talent. But we’ll be honest: We’d be hard pressed to think of an era when the city has had as varied a span of amazing talent — artists who legitimately have a touch of greatness regardless of where they might be from, operating in a rainbow of genres — as it does today. Moreover, we can’t remember an era when Philly had this much great music from both the present and past that’s so very available to us.
