The Ghosts Of Elections Past Haunt This Slideshow Of Philly Mayoral Political Pins

Hopefully by this point in the afternoon you have gone out and voted, or are planning to do so after you wrap up work for the day. (If not, I won't browbeat you except to throw some shade and a heartfelt "c'mon son!" in your general direction). Bask in the afterglow of performing your civic duty by browsing the above photo gallery of vintage political pins from Philadelphia mayoral elections past. Included are the usual suspects -- several Frank Rizzo-related pins are featured here, including a punk as fuck anti-Rizzo one -- as well as figures predating your lifetime, such as 1920s Republican Mayor W. Freeland Kendrick (who helped create Shriners Hospital for Children) and Samuel Howell Ashbridge, who served from 1899 to 1903 and who proposed the creation of the future Roosevelt Boulevard. All of these items are currently for sale via this political memorabilia page. I'm especially partial to the pretzel pin used in the 1958 election, but your mileage may vary.
