The Philly Jawn Streaming Player: Blog It Like It’s Hot!
Friends, Philadelphians, Countrymen: As you may already know, Philebrity ‚Äî along with our friends at Uwishunu at Move To Philly ‚Äî is heading to the South By Southwest Music Conference (SXSW) next week to present Philly Jawn! What’s that? And what is SXSW, you ask? Well, we will tell you: SXSW is easily the world’s biggest annual music-biz conference, and Philly Jawn! is our chance to present to the biz and press at large the great music scene we have going here. To you, it’s probably old hat already, but know this: As of this writing, Philly boasts what is probably the healthiest and most interesting music scene in all of the U.S. We aim to let the rest of the world know that on Saturday, March 17, from noon until 7pm at Cream Vintage in Austin, TX. (Going to Austin? Drop us a line! We’re curious to know what other Philadelphians are heading down.) Here’s where you can help: This week’s edition of The Philebrity Player is a sampler of the bands playing our show, and it’s also bloggable and MySpace-friendly. Please help us spread the word. In the top right corner of the player, click on the “Blog Code” tab; there, you can grab an embed code, much like you would a YouTube video. Steal this Player. Blog the shit out of it. Post it as a comment on your friend’s MySpace pages, put it on your own blog, do anything you want with it. Bands: Hit the internet hard with this thing. Let the people know about the music, and how they need to get with this. And if people wanna know what it’s all about, point ‘em to http://philebrity.com/sxsw, where we will be posting regular updates, music and more about Philly bands at SXSW ‚Äî and not just the ones who are playing our show. There’s about 15 more besides, and next week, we’ll be posting live from Texas while Citizen Mom holds down the fort at home. Let freedom ring, and let that Philly pride burn bright and true. Together, we are going to fuck the music industry once and for all. I mean, really: At this point, it’s like kicking a wounded puppy, so why the hell not, right?
PLUS: Tune in to WXPN 88.5 TONIGHT at 9:30pm where Dave P and Joey Sweeney will be talking about Philly Jawn! and playing Philly bands!
WE’RE GOING TO AUSTIN!
