What do you call 100 lawyers in a hotel bar?
The resistance, apparently.
On Friday afternoon, the Philadelphia Bar Association is hosting a meeting of local attorneys at the Loews Hotel in Center City. They’re planning to talk through the potential impacts of federal policies coming from the Trump administration as well as laws and policies coming from the state capital, which is full of Republicans who don’t seem to like Philadelphia. The gathering is the first in a series. It is focused on immigration and refugee policy, and the stated purpose is to develop plans to “protect and assist vulnerable residents.”
Thanks, lawyers. Now we just need guns and money.
