Rumblings: DOMA Arigato

casey>>> Yesterday, Senator Bob Casey shunned the silliness of April Fools to speak the truth, and came out in support of gay marriage. Casey’s support of same-sex marriage — all the cool kids are doing it — was announced when he spoke to the Philadelphia Gay News, saying “After much deliberation and after reviewing the legal, public policy and civil-rights questions presented, I support marriage equality for same-sex couples and believe that DOMA should be repealed.” In response, Brian Sims gave Casey a Facebook high-five. >>> New Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin, fresh off of signing a 6-year $36 million contract, voiced his support for the strongly rumored gay pro football player who may or may not come out shortly. Barwin, whose older brother is gay, contradicted what Chris Culliver and now Chris Clemons have said about gay players in the locker room (must be something about the alliteration), saying in part, “As a heterosexual man, I can’t speak to what it must feel like to be gay in the NFL. I don’t know what somebody goes through. I imagine its very hard to go through. So I would support that teammate no matter what. I don’t think it would be a distraction. And even if it was, the NFL has distractions in every locker room. You would work through it like anything else.” You just found your favorite Eagle. [G Philly]

>>> And Delaware’s Senator Tom Carper added his name to the list of senate dems who support gay marriage via a Facebook post. Carper, who also supported DOMA back in 1996, has joined the growing number of elected officials who have changed their stance on it. []

I personally have no problem with gay marriage I have a major problem with politicians who say one thing to get elected and immediately do a 180 and support something they opposed during the election. In that case, everyone loses no matter who or what cause you support.

It doesn’t matter from what side of the aisle you are from, you just got screwed by you elected representative and for that reason, the little fuck should be recalled.

That behavior is the exact reason we are no longer a representative government and are sliding on the slippery slope of dictatorship at a high rate of speed.

There is no excuse for this type of behavior in an elected official.

Casey and Carper…they forgot to read Profiles In Courage back in high school
