It’s still a little while before it kicks off, but the Philadelphia Orchestra‘s second season under the guidance of Yannick “YANNICK!” Nézet-Séguin has been announced. The orchestra’s home opener takes place on, September 25, 2013, featuring an all Tchaikovsky program, and the season continues with some away games at Carnegie Hall, a celebration to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Strauss‘ birth, and world premier commissions from Behzad Ranjbaran, and David Ludwig, and the U.S. premiere of a commission from Tan Dun. The whole stacked schedule can be seen over here, more details can be found here, and if you need us we’ll be trying to make this whole thing pocket sized.
