Got Nothing Going On Feb. 23rd? Why Not Head To Neshaminy To Watch All Nine Best Picture Nominees In A Row

bps-2013-headerIf you’re like us, you make a pledge every year to check out all of the Academy Award nominees for Best Picture before the Oscar is handed out. And if you’re like us, you’ve never followed through on this pledge. But this year is your chance to finally make good on that, if you’ve got absolutely nothing going on February 23rd. As part of AMC TheatersBest Picture Showcase, select venues will be showing all nine Best Picture nominees starting at 10AM on February 23rd, and the final frame will hit the screen 24 hours later.

The one local location of the Best Picture Showcase is the AMC Neshaminy, and it can be your one-stop-shop to check out Amour, Lincoln, Argo, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Zero Dark Thirty, Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook, and Beasts of the Southern Wild. And for those actually considering this insane proposition, here are some numbers for you: Total runtime comes to 1197 minutes (or 19 hours 57 minutes) and the average length of the films is over 135 minutes. So plan those bathroom breaks accordingly. Tickets for the marathon screening (as well as split weekend marathons) are available here.
