Check Out The Philadelphia Art Museum Exhibit Of Self-Taught Artists; Because You Wasted Money On Art School
If you went to art school, we’re sure your parents already forwarded this to you, but here it is anyway: This spring, over two hundred objects from one of the finest private collections of works by American self-taught artists will be on view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As we’re sure your mom’s email continued, “See, you didn’t need all those student loans after all.” Great and Mighty Things opens March 3rd and continues into June. The art comes from the collection of Jill and Sheldon Bonovitz, and includes drawring, paintings, sculptures, and more from 27 different artists. On display will be art from William Edmondson, Martín Ramírez, Bill Traylor, and others, to really hammer home the thought that maybe you did spend too much money on art school. Unless you are a graduate of Hennessy Youngman U, that is.
