RECOMMENDED: Already hailed as one of 2012’s best films (it spent some time in limited release before the calendar changed), Kathryn Bigelow‘s Zero Dark Thirty is about — in case you’ve been under a rock for the past year or so — the hunt for and subsequent killing of Osama Bin Laden. It’s been a while (going all the way back to Argo) since we’ve had a good old fashioned American tale of espionage and/or assassination, and this looks to be a good one. Plus, who doesn’t love some night vision?
The film is getting some criticism from the media for implying that torture works and is a good thing, but then again, so does Texas Chainsaw 3D, and we don’t see that on MSNBC now do we?
ALSO NEW IN THEATERS: The aforementioned Texas Chainsaw 3D, where … well … in some shape or form you’ve seen this before. All of it. The leaps of logic, the dismemberment, the “acting.” You know what you’re in for, so if you decide to drop ten bucks on this thing, that’s on you dude.
