You may have heard that a new record from Philly’s constant hitmaker Kurt Vile should be coming along in late winter/early Spring. Here’s a bit of home team fun surrounding that: The cover of the record is going to be a mural painted by Steve Powers/Espo, most famous in these parts for the Mural Arts/SEPTA “A Love Letter For You” project from a few years back (and, back in the day, lots and lots and lots of graffiti). The mural will start going up at Front and Master Streets tomorrow or Saturday; an accompanying documentary about the painting of the mural is being done by Don Argott (Last Days Here, The Art of the Steal).
