Although it’s taken a backseat to a lot of other news coverage (which says as much about our willingness to get past tragedy as it does about our ADD-driven 24-hour news cycle), there is still a whole lot of relief and recovery work to be done in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. And we know that many of you have probably already given money to relief efforts or volunteered your time, but sometimes it’s nice to give a little to charity and get some good old fashioned entertainment for your buck. We get it, and SORTED gets it.
At this weekend’s edition of SORTED at The Barbary, you can dance the night away to the music of Arcade Fire (Power Out. Get it?) and all of the other indie dance you love while your $5 cover goes towards the Red Cross’ Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The jams will be strictly Canadian-by-way-of-Haiti-and-Texas from 11 PM to midnight, followed by similar jams (and some Grammy winning ones thrown into the mix) until 2AM. Because if you’re gonna sweat anyway, you might as well do it for a good cause.
