The I SEPTA Philly Instagram Contest Could Go So Very Wrong

SEPTA, as part of their eternal mission to get up on current technology, will begin an Instagram contest tomorrow. The contest, which encourages riders to “take photos of SEPTA during their daily use of the system and caption the photo with what riding SEPTA means to them, along with the hash tag #iseptaphilly,” features prizes such as tickets to Sixers games, Blue Moutain Ski passes, SEPTA passes and gear, and Jingle Ball tickets for the best pictures.

We’re not exactly sure what SEPTA’s looking for when they say the “best pictures” but we know they’ll probably comprise less than 1% of what will be sent their way. They’ll get lots of pictures of signs that say Regional Rail is running late, water pouring through the roof at the City Hall station, trash covered tracks, and the like. A press release says that “submitted photos will be reviewed by SEPTA staff for approval before being accepted for … the website,” and that job is this week’s winner of “job we would never want to have.”
