Advertiser Shout-Out: Blogads Are Down, But Here’s What You Would Usually See To The Right
We here at the Philebs were luckily enough to not be too affected by the wrath of Sandy, but our Blogads (which come out of a server in NYC and are usually seen on the right) haven’t been so lucky. In the interest of fairness and still letting you know about some cool stuff, here is what you’re missing:
>>> The Trestle Inn has their Voodoo Boogaloo Halloween Dance Party tonight at 9PM. You will probably hear “Monster Mash,”and there will be best costume prizes, so do your worst.
>>> The Philadelphia Museum of Art‘s Art After 5 series continues this Friday with Japan Night this Friday, featuring japanese folk music and the dance group Kuromori Kagura.
>>> Tickets are still available for Conor Oberst at the Kimmel Center on November 18. Support will be provided by Daniel Johnston.
>>> Circles Contemporary Asian Cuisine continues to serve some of the best Thai and everything-else around (including the Cheesesteak Spring Rolls, which are just great).
>>> Johnny Brenda’s has got two separate Halloweeny events going on tonight: Downstairs features the sounds of the Universal Cave DJs all night, playing spooky sounds and creepy jams for absolutely no cover; while upstairs has got the Dress Up and Make A Sound: Halloween Spectacular with The Spinto Band, also featuring Toy Soldiers and Delicious Pastries. Once again, break out those costumes.
>>> And the TLA has got a sold-out (and sure to be crazy) Halloween show from Foxy Shazam tonight, and some shows later this week from Xavier Rudd, The Royal Family Ball featuring Soulive & Lettuce, Motion City Soundtrack, and more. Also note that Further Seems Forever show set for tomorrow night has been postponed due to Sandy.
