Next Thursday, in an effort to “showcase Philly’s parks and build the next generation of park champions,” the Fairmount Park Conservancy is gonna throw a little nighttime luminescence shindig. The first edition of the GLOW in the Park will take place at FDR Park a week from today, featuring food trucks, cocktails, and live music from 6PM to 9PM. Tickets for the event cost $45 for members and $75 for non-members (the non-member admission cost includes a yearly membership) and you can sign up for the event here.

It might sound a bit gimmicky, but the event benefits the Fairmount Park Conservancy, so it’s for a good cause. Plus, it’s certainly a lot better than this.
