The SlutWalk Returns To Philadelphia This Weekend

Born in Toronto last year, and brought to Philadelphia in response to comments made by Dan Rottenberg, the SlutWalk was started “to spread the word that those who experience sexual assault are not the ones at fault, without exception.”

After a successful run (er … walk) last year, the SlutWalk is coming back on October 20th, beginning at Clark Park. The route begins at 43rd and Baltimore at 11AM and continues on to Love Park, with a meet up location half way along the route at 31st and Market. The goal of the march is, according to the walk’s FB page, “To raise awareness so we start dialogues with one another about ways in which our society perpetuates a culture that blames and shames the victim. This isn’t just a women’s issue nor is it just a men’s issue. It’s everyone’s issue.”
