Film Sweat: Psycho Killer

RECOMMENDED: This is one of those rare weekends of the year (which seem to get rarer each time around) where there are a few new movies in theaters we are more than a little excited to see, and number one on that list is Seven Psychopaths. Written and directed by Martin McDonagh, whose In Bruges is the reason we don’t hate Colin Farrell anymore, Seven Psychopaths brings together a fully-accented Farrell, Abbie Cornish, Olga Kurylenko, Woody Harrelson, Harry Dean Stanton, Christopher Walken, a bunny-holding Tom Waits, and Sam Rockwell; one of our most under-appreciated actors.

It’s all got something to do with kidnapped dogs. There’s a whole bunch of guns, and one very-frazzled Irishman. Walken’s got some ascots. This is all we really need to know, because if it’s anything close to the caliber of In Bruges, we’re all in.

ALSO NEW IN THEATERS: Argo, in which a Bieber-haired Ben Affleck saves some hostages both in front of and behind the camera; Sinister, where Ethan Hawke (yes … Ethan Hawke) kicks off horror film season with a bang; Here Comes The Boom, which really shouldn’t exist; and The Paperboy at The Ritz Five, where — no joke — Nicole Kidman pees on Zac Efron.
