Swedish songster Jens Lekman has been making palatable acoustic pop tunes since 2004, and his latest release, I Know What Love Isn’t, is no different. From open to close, it’s soft-classical-guitar-jam after soft-classical-guitar-jam, and that is far from a bad thing. Lekman’s songs are deceptively sweet; so sweet that you might miss it when they are colossally heartbreaking, like on I Know What Love Isn’t‘s “I Want A Pair Of Cowboy Boots” and “Every Little Hair Knows Your Name.” It might not be the most divisive and offensive music out there, but it’s good, and that’s all that matters.
