New WHYY Music Series Sets, Screens First Episode At The Fire

Danny Gold, who runs Danny’s Guitar Shop in Narberth, has got himself his own show on WHYY now. The show, also titled Danny’s Guitar Shop, has its WHYY premiere (the show has aired on public access and WHYY sub-channels before) on the night of October 21 right after Austin City Limits. The series will take a look at different musical and historical people and places in the area, and the first season features episodes on Renaissance music, Martin Guitars, The School of Rock, David Bromberg, Jerry Blavat, and more.

The show’s WHYY-premiere episode, called “Open Mic At The Fire,” features … umm … an open mic at The Fire. To celebrate the episode’s airing, there will be a sneak preview screening at The Fire a full week before it airs on WHYY. The sneak preview takes place on October 15th at 9PM, and will include live performances by a number of the artists featured in the TV show, including Pete Donnelly, and Hezekiah Jones among many others. We’ll definitely be setting our DVRs for this once the Geator episode rolls around.
