Since The Theater Shooting In Colorado, There Have Been 115 People Shot In Philadelphia

As the video above from Gun Crisis points out, the 115 people shot in Philadelphia since the movie theater shooting in Aurora surpasses the combined total of “victims from the Colorado incident, the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting, this week’s incident in College Station, Texas and the assault rifle attack that wounded 17 people in Alabama last month.” A map of every shooting incident is over here, and you can read the whole report from Gun Crisis over here.

I think John Stewart put the absolute absurdity of American gun laws best when he said that in order to vote in some states now, you need multiple forms of identification to prove you are who you say you are, and yet to buy a gun, you basically just need to show up at a gun show. I’m fairly certain we’ve failed as a civilized society at this point.

Which goes to show you how much voting actually really does still matter, regardless of what cynics everywhere will be telling you during the next election.
