Philebrity Endorses Losing Yourself In The Bass Barn Forums

Sure, some of you may already be aware of the Bass Barn Forums, the go-to place to discuss fish, fishing, crabs, crabbing, and other things related to fishing and crabbing. We here at Philebrity were only vaguely aware of it, but while our own Joey Sweeney has found his true calling while on vacation this week (he says he’s been called to be a “Kayak Mystic” or “Shaman of the Sea” and we’re not sure if he’s ever coming back), he has been mostly unplugged from these Internets. In the early moments of his time off, however, he found himself spending a substantial amount of time checking out all the crabbing info on Bass Barn. But even those of us not on vacation should take some time to do what he did: Take some time away from your usual sites (expect for Philebs, of course) and dig around for things not in your usual rotation of news sites, music blogs, and … uh … adult content. It is on one of these enlightenment-finding missions where Sweeney came across the Bass Barn forums.

As he himself said, “When the rest of the world is bringing you down, and you just want to get down to what it’s really all about …” you will find what you need at Bass Barn, or a place like it. He continued, “I was reading all of these crab threads and was feeling like, shit, this is so much better than most of the shit I spend my time online with.” We already spend enough time online as it is, so if we’re going to be there, we might as well expand our horizons, right? So the next time you’re going through your daily grind (CNN, Gawker, ESPN, local news, Philly.com, lather, rinse, repeat) get out of your comfort zone. Find something you don’t usually look at, and dig in. See how the other side lives online. Plus, HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THIS WATERSPOUT GUYS!

    The Bass Barn………it’s a small boys club, they all agree with each other, while Ron deletes, and ban’s anyone that doesn’t fall into step. You need to be a member with at least a thousand agreeable posts to get along. Most live in homes, you would never rent……why would you take advise from anyone there?

    Ron Redington is an asshole, I agree. He bans anyone that doesnt play by our set of rules. Myself and lady killegrew just keep it together by repeating, what else are we going to do? She is a second wife……its not like I had a lot of choices. Anyway, we like being assholes on the Bass Barn…..its who we are, all of us. especially that tool bag joey sac. I mean, whats it going to take to shut him up? Just repeat, i do believe in god…..over and over. eventually the same stupidity will sink in, and you can be one of us after 500 posts. until then, that jerk off Ron Redington can and will ban you.

    I told you…….the Bass Barn is full of assholes! And the biggest asshole of all, Ron Redington. They should make that douche bag the next pope, he’s a catholic prude. So, they banned you. LMAO! It’s funny to read though. Everyone has an opinion on everything they know nothing about in real life because they live in a box. A box they built for themselves. Step outside the box……….boom, you are Banned. So much pedestrian low life humor, I think I’ll eat my deer meat casserole now. LOL!
