The illustrious beacon of douchery known as Xfinity Live! will be alive with the buzz of regional newscasters tonight as the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) prepares to announce the nominees for the 2012 Local Emmmy Awards from 6:30-8:30 PM.

And if Xfinity Live! proves just too much for them, the regional television community will gather once more to celebrate the 30th Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards on Saturday, September 22nd, this time at the Philadelphia Hilton Hotel on City Avenue in Philadelphia. At the event, NBC News President Steve Capus is set to receive the Board of Governors’ Award, which is bestowed by NATAS “to recognize career longevity, lifetime achievements and significant contributions to the television industry.” Good Day Philadelphia anchor Mike Jerrick will emcee.

Still….Xfinity Live, guys? Why?
