Noontime Nuggetz: Craig Elkins, “Gravel”

Back in the day, Huffamoose was Philly’s great white hope for major label rock in the eras of Crowes like Counting and Sheryl. But then you know what happened: The music industry imploded into a million tiny pieces and everybody started demo-ing at home with Garageband. Don’t count former Huffamoose frontman Craig Elkins out just yet, though; yesterday, he released his first proper solo album, I Love You, with assists from Counting Crowe Dave Immergluck on guitar (hey!) and Elvis Costello drummer, Pete Thomas. “Gravel,” above, is the lead-off track.

Should I be impressed? Why didn’t he also include one of the Black Bros (Chris or Rich)?? And where is the side of Sheryl??

“and Elvis Costello drummer, Pete Thomas.”

Ok. That’s a win. But Huffamoose Craig should keep in mind for the future, he needs to produce music with Philebrity Puns/Posts in mind.
