R.I.P.: Composer Marvin Hamlisch, 1944-2012
Legendary composer and EGOT-winner (he’s also got a Pulitzer) Marvin Hamlisch has passed away suddenly. Hamlisch is most known for his scores for The Sting, The Spy Who Loved Me, Sophie’s Choice, A Chorus Line, and more. Hamlisch was set to guest conduct with the Philly Pops in April for the Bond And Beyond Concert Series. In addition, he was reportedly being considered as the new full-time conductor for the Pops. He was 68 years old.
