What is Universal Cave? Well, it’s a lot of things. In the temporal time-space continuum, it is the fragrance and accessories line of the great Tequila Sunrise Records (which sadly has left the physical plane at 6th and Girard but lives on as a truly awesome mail-order operation). But it is also a DJ night (third Thursdays at Johnny Brenda’s), a series of ideas, and perhaps more than any of these, it is a vibe. And oh, what a vibe it is, a spectral bliss-out where Jah Wobble and Dee-Lite share a wineskin Spooky Tooth and Peter Green. This here mixtape explains it all, and it’s magnificent.
