Noontime Nuggetz: Baroness, “March To The Sea”
Philadelphia by-way-of Georgia band Baroness went ahead and got themselves a little write up in the New York Times playlist section on Friday. What’s so great about them? We’ll let the NYT tell you:
Classification counts for a lot in metal, which has long been this band’s native habitat, but it’s the least illuminating approach to “Yellow & Green,” which, as its title implies, divides into two distinct halves, each assigned an instrumental theme. The album makes room for the psychedelic and the pastoral, as well as traces of grunge, post-rock, even quasi-disco.”
Baroness are currently on tour in Europe, and their new album Yellow & Green is available now.
