Pay No Attention To The Standings Behind The Curtain: Phillies Co-Owner Gives $16 Million To Philly Education

The Phillies currently sit 13 games out of the division lead and 9.5 games off of the Wild Card, which is bad news. One of the Phillies co-owners just gave over $16 million to education in Philadelphia, which is great news. According to NBC10, John Middleton and his wife Leigh have donated $16.2 million to the city’s school district, Philadelphia Academies Inc., Philadelphia Youth Network and Drexel University. Middleton is quoted on NBC’s website as saying the school district is at a “tipping point,” and needs an infusion of resources. Now only if he could tell that to Ruben Amaro.
