Band That Is More Like The Who Than Most Who Cover Bands To Perform Opera That Was Actually Just An Album And A Movie

If you have a devoted Who fan in your life, you already know: The group’s living members still exert a life force upon its fans that is like some kind of ATM Jedi mind trick. Reason does not enter. This winter’s version of that trick will be The Who-ish performing Quadrophenia (that’s the one about the mods) in its entirety across North America, hitting Philly on December 8th at the Wells Fargo Center. (Tickets go on sale this Friday to people with certain kinds of credit cards; a week later for the rest of mankind.) In addition, on July 24th, a special one-night in-theater screening of “The Who: Quadrophenia-Can You See The Real Me?” The Story Behind The Album will occur, here in Philly at the Riverview and The Rave, and you can bet your ass that will be some damn fine people-watching. And while we know this all sounds like we’re dissing the Who, really, we’re not; we love The Who. It’s just that the road is long and the existence of any of this at all is absurd.
