As Much As We Want It To Be True, Bill Murray Will Probably Not Crash Your Party Next Month

People, relax.

Sorry. But yes, we’ve seen this, too, and briefly got excited, as well, and… no. The Bill Murray Party Crashing Tour, though it is perhaps as fine an idea as has ever been put forth by mankind, does not actually exist. The link above has been making the rounds for days, encouraging folks to check Murray’s itinerary — he’s faux-slated to be in Philly on August 24th — and demarcate Murray-friendly party zones (the whole of the Earth, no?) with signs that read “BILL MURRAY CAN CRASH HERE.”

But it’s a hoax, you see. It’s not happening. And for the love of Pete, don’t call the number listed on that site; it’s the Westboro Baptist Church. Having said all of this, though, we’re keeping the 24th open. What harm could it do?

I like what it says at the bottom….

Some people in certain cities are reporting this tour as a hoax. I think
that’s just because they are worried about all the extra alcohol and
karaoke machines that will need to be made available, plus the
additional police that might be required. This is all a small price to
pay when you’re looking at the possibility of partying with Bill,
    f*cking, Murray.

This Bill Murray tour will happen, or worst case scenario… a bunch of
people get together in different cities around the country, get drunk,
sing karaoke and show their love for a living legend.
