Activist And Former Sheriff Candidate Cheri Honkala Is The Green Party Vice Presidential Nominee
Cheri Honkala, a long time activist and executive director of the Kensington Welfare Rights Union (KWRU) who recently ran an unsuccessful bid for sheriff, has been named Jill Stein‘s running mate on the Green Party presidential ticket, according to Time. During her run for sheriff, whether she was throwing parties, riding horses, hanging with the Dead Milkmen, or fighting foreclosures, Honkala was always entertaining, interesting, and stood behind a noble message. So this is shaping up to be pretty great.
So what’s the Stein/Honkala plan? To, “lower unemployment while providing options for free higher education, downsizing the military, ending tax breaks and addressing climate change” which all sounds pretty damn good to us. Also, can we get a Honkala/Biden/whoever-Romney-picks debate set up ASAP?
