You loved him in White Zombie. You thrilled to his cinematic triumphs such as House Of 1000 Corpses and Halloween. Now, Rob Zombie is getting ready to give you something you never knew you wanted but now that you know it’s in the pipeline, it’s all you can think about: A Rob Zombie-directed biopic of the Broad Street Bullies. Oh no? OH YES: Zombie has signed on to make a movie about the 1974 Philadelphia Flyers that he’s promising will be “like Rocky meets Boogie Nights on ice.” He’s got the material, for sure: The O.G. BSB’s were paid to draw blood, and were perhaps the coolest pre-Zombies this city has ever known. Have you ever wished that someone re-made Slapshot but did it entirely from the perspective of the Hanson brothers? Looks like you’re gonna finally get your wish.
