They got off scot-free for the Comcast sit-in, but another group of occupiers weren’t so lucky with a sit-in at a Wells Fargo branch back in November: Twelve Occupy Philadelphia protesters were found guilty of defiant trespass and conspiracy yesterday, according to the Daily News. They were the first guilty verdicts of any kind in the multiple Occupy court cases, and the defendants were ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court fees.
Civil-rights attorney Paul Hetznecker was quoted saying, “We’re very disappointed, and we intend to appeal.” We’re not sure how that’ll work out, since defiant trespass is kinda OP’s M.O.
