Fun With Infographics: Learning All About Quirk Books, Philly’s Most Resourceful Little Publishing House

Many of even the bookiest-booknerds among you may not know this, but in a small building just a few doors down from Old City Coffee, a tiny publishing house called Quirk Books has been pushing out cute little titles for the last ten years. And through 277 books — 30 of which have one of the following words in the title: “Handbook,” “Zombie,” “Cat,” “Penis” — they’ve amassed over 10 million units in print and have had several massive successes, such as Pride And Prejudice And Zombies and Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. Impressive, no? And all of it with not a lot of employees, no dark major-publishing house overlords or anything by Jennifer Weiner. On the occasion of their tenth anniversary, they’ve made this fun infographic that has some other fun stats about what they’ve been doing, relatively quietly on Church Street, ‘lo these years. It’s kind of inspirational, and a testament to the things you can do if you have a few braaaaaaains laying around. Happy birthday, Quirk!
