We here at the Philebs always thought that a State of Emergency declaration was saved for instances of riots, natural disasters, and the like, but in Delco, it could just mean you’re running out of cops. So when three Police officers were suspended for tazing a handcuffed teenager in a jail cell, the mayor of Colwyn declared a State of Emergency because now they only have seven police officers to patrol the streets. Seven cops, down from ten, all because some idiot tazed a handcuffed dude. But maybe the suspensions weren’t necessary, maybe he was just trying to taze his buddy.

We kind of feel bad for the mayor here. We can only imagine how hefty the sigh was before he let the words “State of Emergency” leave his lips.
