This Friday At The XPN Film Fest: Philebrity Presents GIRL WALK // ALL DAY

Later this week, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Film Society, the first-ever XPN Music Film Festival will kick off. And over the course of four days — Thursday through Sunday — there will be lots of different kinds of music movies (docs, biopics, dramas, comedies), but we’re pretty sure there will only be one movie like GIRL WALK // ALL DAY. And we’re very pleased to present it on Friday night, along with DJs Bruce Warren and Robert Drake, and Body Dreamz, who’ll be performing throughout the night.

Billed as a “feature length dance music video,” the collaborators behind GIRL WALK // ALL DAY began as something of a minor Internet sensation in 2009, when director Jacob Krupnick and dancer Anne Marsen began making videos of dancing in public spaces that quickly caught the eye of many folks, from tweens all the way to the New York Times. Along the way, they caught the eye of mashup artist Girl Talk, and thus, the movie was born. Friday night’s event at World Cafe Live will be both screening and dance party, as the movie itself is a little of both. We definitely encourage you to buy tickets in advance, as the upstairs at WCL has limited space and if you like body-movin’, well, this is just something you’re going to want to be a part of.
