Urban Outfitters Offended Someone Again Because That’s Kind Of Their Thing
Urban Outfitters (who doesn’t exactly avoid controversy) is in a bit of hot water over the card above that they were selling on their UK online store. For those who can’t read the text, the card says:
Jack and Jill,
Went up the hill,
So Jack could see Jill’s fanny,
But Jack got a shock,
And an eyeful of cock,
Because Jill was a closet tranny.”
Ahem … oh boy. The card has raised concerns in the LGBT community for being transphobic, according to Huffington Post. The card has been picked up by many LGBT blogs, expressing their disgust at the card, and for good reason. Not only is the card offensive to people in the LGBT community and people who can read, but it uses the word “cock” which has got to be the grimiest word in the English language. Even after all you’ve done before UO, we expected better.
