This Evening: Snarking in the Rain

>>> It’s ugly and wet outside, and it’s also ugly and wet inside… your soul. Lighten up those outsider blues and judge the comedic insights of a bunch of innately depressed people. Raven Lounge’s upstairs Center City Comedy serves up the darkest and the greenest of local stand-ups performing onstage next to a stripper pole. Sometimes they lean against it, more often, they blink wildly and try to find a non-awkward exit as an outro track of an undeserved rap song plays behind them.

>>> Likewise in the realm of comedy, local man-child Aaron Hertzog hosts the return of Hey Everybody!, featuring James Hesky, FEMALE COMEDIAN Mary Radzinski (the announcer’s caps, not ours), Jim Grammond, and John Nunn at the Shubin’s Philly Improv Theater. Bring Your Own Booze, hold off on the boos (apparently, the password is “Friendship.”)

>>> Or, whoa, Blues Control at the I-House Spring Preview (free but you must RSVP); FYLF at the 700. You know, for you rockers.

If our youth are spending thier creative years trying to become stand-up comedians, America really is doomed. Start a band instead, please.
