If You Love Books But Aren’t So Great With People, Try Speed Dating At The Library

We swear, it isn’t as sad as it we made it sound in the headline. That dreaded day is quickly approaching: The Hallmark-holiday of all Hallmark-Holidays, Valentine’s Day, will be here in only a few weeks. So what should you do if you have no one to spend it with? Stay home, save a ton of money, and avoid big crowds. But hey, if you don’t want to do that, you can try to snag someone before the deadline at some speed dating events set up by the Free Library of Philadelphia.

During the first week of February, the FLP will be hosting speed dating session at libraries across the city. The library encourages participants to bring a book they loved, hated, or just recently read to use as an ice-breaker (all the nerds who bring Watchmen will presumably have their own section). One couple at each event will win Author Events tickets to see Anne Rice, author of The Vampire Chronicles series, and have their first date at the Free Library on Valentine’s Day.

Details on dates, times, and locations are after the jump, but are you sure you don’t want to just enjoy a nice quiet Tuesday? Your call.
