As we briefly mentioned before the New Year, Rick Santorum is working his way up to the top in Iowa, where he is poised for a top 3 finish (at the very least) in the Iowa caucuses. While ol’ Ricky boy is confident his run of popularity will continue past Iowa, most others seem to think (or hope) that isn’t true, because … you know … it’s Rick Santorum. No one knows what has caused this sudden rush of Santorum-love to take hold of Iowa. It could be that he’s led the attack on the generally-squirrely Ron Paul, that he wants to tax the straights less, or his secret weapon: the sweater vest.

Either way, Santroum coming in the top 3 in Iowa (or even winning) looks like it’s going to, as much as we’re horrified to say it, actually happen. Many of the GOP candidates now seem dead in the water, while Santorum’s surge could make him the new front-runner (although at this point, just about everyone but Jon Huntsman has been a front-runner at some point). Maybe this is the 2012 end of days prophecy we’ve been hearing about. YOU CAN STOP IT IOWA. We can live on. We can survive.

It is at this time we would like to do our good deed for the day, and just point some things out for everyone. Anyone but Santorum ’12.
