Dykstra Backed Out Of Autograph Session To Get Punched In The Face

It seems before he decided he had to seek ultimate revenge on Jose Canseco, Lenny Dykstra was locked into an autograph signing at the Oxford Valley Mall on Saturday. But fear not fans, although Geoff Jenkins also backed out (which is unfortunate, because we were really hoping for Geoff Jenkins’ autograph) Mitch Williams, Tom McCarthy, and Cookie Rojas will still be signing autographs, among others.

We’ve had this lingering thought for years about Mitch Williams autograph signings: we think if there is a hell individual to all of us, then for Mitch Williams it is doing autograph signings right next to Joe Carter for all of eternity, forever signing the image of a moment he wants to forget but can never escape. But in reality, it’s probably a totally nice time.

I dunno, Ralph Branca did joint appearances with Bobby Thomson for years, and never seemed to mind it.

Mitch is cool with Carter and the homerun. They’ve talked about it together on TV. I imagine Mitch’s hell would be signing next to Curt Schilling. He hates that guy and he’s right to.
