Bicycle Coalition Calls For Action
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is asking for your help in opposing a bill proposed by City Councilman William Greenlee (whom you may remember from this). Greenlee proposed the bill yesterday, which would require City Council approval for installation of any bike lane in Philadelphia. The Coalition says if the bill passes, it will “delay making our streets safer and adds an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy to a process that already has substantial public review.”
The Coalition also points out that vehicular travel lanes, as well as crosswalks and bus stops, do not need to be Council approved.
You can read the bill information here, and show your support by personalizing the letter here to be included in an email to the council.
