dog shockTerror has a new name, Philadelphia, and that name is “contact voltage.” Contact voltage, according to Streetzaps.com, a site dedicated to raising awareness to the problem, “is a chronic hidden hazard that can readily victimize an unsuspecting dog, walker, or both. No dog lover could possibly observe a more horrifying scene than witnessing his beloved pet instantaneously maimed or tragically electrocuted.” Oh no. Contact voltage often occurs when construction is occurring somewhere, and, one way or another, objects on the street wind up bearing a charge. And according to the site’s testimonies, Philly is not immune:
