We don’t much go in for the hero worship around here, but suffice it to say that Ray Davies is most likely among the five greatest songwriters alive on Earth today. Do we even need to bring up his CV, or mention the influence of his work, or discuss the emotional value invested by so many of us in his songs? Actually, we’d love to do that, but we’d be here all week. (And oh, what an awesome week that would be.) As you might have heard, Ray will be performing live with full choral ensemble in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall on Thanksgiving weekend — Saturday, November 27th, to be precise. And we’re kind of flipping out about it. Not just because of the show, you see, but also the fact that Ray will be appearing at a meet-and-greet on the day of the show. We’d like to help you with both of those.
