New National Museum Of American Jewish History Opening In November

On November 12th, the National Museum of American Jewish History ( or NMAJH if you’re into the whole brevity thing) will reopen in its new location at Independence Mall. The weekend of celebration will feature performances by Jerry Seinfeld and Bette Midler at the NMAJH’s Grand Opening Gala on November 13th.
The museum’s core exhibit features three floors of exhibits detailing three periods of the history of Jews in America and a a Jewish Hall of Fame, called the Only In America Gallery. Included in the gallery are 18 famous Jews, including Albert Einstein, Sandy Koufax, Steven Spielberg – no doubt for directing Hook – and Barbara Streisand. (Hey Bette, maybe you’ll be inducted when you finish your EGOT, which Babs completed way back in 1970. And Jerry, you were straight-up robbed.)
The weekend will also feature a couple of panel discussions, and on Sunday, November 14th, the museum will be open free to the public from 1:30 to 5:00 pm. Free! We love free! Check it out here for more information.
