The Other Guys stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson in a smash-em-up, slapstick cop romp. By default and nothing else at all, it’s probably the best movie opening this week. Sorry!

ALSO NEW IN THEATERS: Or maybe we spoke too soon: The Concert is one of those Ritz films old folks love because it blends a caper with something like classical music or food and winds up being a feel-good tale about some grand wrong that is being reversed, and if you don’t like it, too, well, you’re just a cranky rube; and Step Up 3, which would be a lot fucking better if it featured the music of DeBarge, just sayin’. Hey, have you seen Inception?
