This Evening: Cracker Please
>>> Consider this: The boost that Glee has given theater nerds only really works in one direction — towards the young, who have their whole lives ahead of them to dress as ladies and sing classic rock songs in bars. The Olds are still stuck with two options in Philly when it comes to grown-up theater nerds getting their camp on — the claw-my-fucking-eyes-out Dumpsta Players (please stop, no, really) or Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret (pictured), whom we still view as suspect in some ways, but at least they’re picking up instruments, playing to people other than their friends (we assume), and, hey, it’s a nice wig. With that ringing endorsement, please know that The Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret 8th of July Extravaganza occurs this evening at L’Etage, and that the 2020 edition of Dumpsta Players is going to be awesome.
>>> Otherwise, it’s your standard Thursday: Night Train at KFN (original recipe this week), and Time Warp at The Barbary.
>>> Oh, and see below for Q Fest Picks!
