Captain Freeshit: Win Tickets To The PEX Summer Festival
As part of our new resolution to say “yes” to things that our old embittered selves would have negated without a second thought — things like: rooftop gardening, healthy eating, going to West Philly — next week, we’re packing up the fam and pitching a tent at the PEX Summer Festival, to be held July 1-5 in Darlington, MD. Think of PEX — that’s short for Philadelphia Experiment — as a micro/East Coast version of Burning Man, and then stop laughing, because you’re supposed to be saying “yes” to things, too. There’ll be a lot of art installations, performances, bands, more DJs than you can shake a stick at, and basically just about every kind of freak under the sun. And we’re giving away a pair of passes for the weekend! (Lodging on the event site is sold out already, but you can find other accomodations/camping info here.) So whaddya say: You wanna fly into the mystery and avoid The Goo Goo Dolls altogether? When we put it like that, how could you say no? To enter to win tickets, email ihopeiwin[at]philebrity[dot]com with “I DON’T NORMALLY DO THIS KIND OF THING” in the subject header. You’ll automatically be subscribed to the forthcoming Philebrity Reader weekly newsletter and win chances for other exclusive free stuff. We’ll pick winners on Monday. After the jump, a trailer for the festival.

part of me was like “yeah, ok, maybe” until i started looking into who all was playing this thing:
a Radiohead cover band.
and, uh… “live painting?” literally: you will have as much fun as watching paint dry.
there’s more than one (!) “drumming workshop” in case nobody ever taught you how to hit stuff…
i guess if you’ve gotten a little too old to know where to buy mushrooms anymore, this would be a good shot at making those kinds of friends again.

re: mushrooms
The album cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is actually 3-D when tripping (no glasses needed) though Pink Floyd’s Relics (four-eyed mask) is much funnier.
Note: When doing drugs in High School (’80s) we liked British Psychedlia as the soundtrack.

HaHa. That’s pretty funny.
